Desert Wash

San Diego is only 2 hours away from the Anza Borrego Desert. I have taken several day trips recently to chart the flowers after the unusual Winter rains 16/17. Here I am in Glorietta Canyon studying the bleached bushes growing in the banks of the wash - noting the  lacery of shadows cast on the white sand and the bright red flickers of color from the struggling chuparosa.

This piece was awarded 1st Place in the SOCALPAPA juried show ( 2017) Spot of Color. Exhibited at the Randy Higbee gallery till the end f May.
